Chester, CT : One person died in a one-car accident on Route 9 in Chester on Sunday, Oct 11, 2015

State police say a motorist has been killed in a one-car accident on Route 9 in Chester.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the southbound side of the highway. Police initially called for a helicopter to transport the victim, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were still investigating late Sunday. No additional details were available.
