A 54-year-old Hudsonville woman was hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash in Blendon Township on Thursday night.

Police said Karen Veltema was traveling west on Tyler Street shortly before 7 p.m. when a vehicle driven by an unidentified 16-year-old, who was traveling east on Tyler, turned in front of her while turning onto northbound 56th Avenue.

The crash pushed the vehicles into a third vehicle — driven by Douglas Bouwman, 63, of Marne — which was sitting at a stop sign on 56th, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Veltema was transported to Zeeland Community Hospital in good condition, police said.

The 16-year-old, who was not identified by police, was cited for failure to yield.
