Maryville, TN : Man died Sunday morning after losing control of his motorcycle on September 21st 2014

A man died early Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle in Blount County. Officials say the wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. between mile markers 5 and 6 on the stretch of U.S. Highway 129 known as "The Dragon." Deputies say 36-year-old Christopher Bickel, of Indiana, lost control of his motorcycle on a turn. They say he locked up the brakes, slid off the road, and hit a tree after going about 25 feet down an embankment He was wearing a DOT approved helmet. The Dragon is considered a visitor attraction that features 318 curves in 11 miles from just south of Maryville to Robbinsville, North Carolina.
