Fairfield, IA : One killed in a crash in Jefferson County on Sunday, March 5, 2017

One person was killed over the weekend in a crash in Jefferson County.

Jacob Aaron Nelson, 21, Lockridge, died when the Ford pickup he was in lost control and rolled down an embankment at 110th Street and Yew Avenue. Maxwell Spalla, 21, and Brett Scott, 20, both of Fairfield, were injured in the crash. Spalla was taken to Jefferson County Hospital, while Scott was flown to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

The Iowa State Patrol said the accident remains under investigation.
