Sparr, FL : One person was killed and another critically injured in crash Saturday June 28, 2014

One person was killed and another critically injured in a head-on collision at the intersection of Northeast Jacksonville Road and County Road 316 on Saturday.
Corey Drakeford, 21, of Summerfield was killed in the crash. Vicki Rockwell, 48, of Citra, was critically injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The afternoon crash blocked traffic on the two-lane roadway for several hours as Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigated the crash, Marion County Fire Rescue officials removed victims from both vehicles and tow truck operators cleaned up and towed the vehicles from the scene.
The accident occurred roughly five miles from where a vehicle on June 20 ran off the roadway and crashed into an open field in the 8200 block of East County Road 316, killing the driver.
According to troopers, a 2007 Mazda Speed3 being driven by Drakeford was heading north on Northeast Jacksonville Road, while a 2002 Chrysler Voyager driven by Rockwell was traveling in the opposite direction.
Officials say Drakeford's Mazda crossed the center lane and into the path of the Chrysler, hitting it head-on.The impact of the crash forced the Mazda off the roadway, and it overturned on the west grassy shoulder. The Chrysler stopped in the southbound lane.
Drakeford was pronounced deceased on scene, troopers said.Rockwell was flown to Ocala Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Troopers said Rockwell was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Drakeford was not wearing his seat belt, authorities said.
