James M. Wheeler, 73, of Vandalia, Mo., was flown to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis for treatment of serious injuries suffered in a Harley accident at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, in Pike County, Mo.

James M. Wheeler, 73, of Vandalia, Mo., was flown to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis for treatment of serious injuries suffered in a Harley accident at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, in Pike County, Mo.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Wheeler was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson Sportster on First Street south of Lewis Street when its throttle stuck, causing him to lose control and the vehicle to overturn. He was using a safety device.
