Sunbury, PA : Three people injured in crash near Snydertown on Wednesday, 31st August, 2016
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash between Clay Pond Road and Black Mill Road near Snydertown, said Sunbury assistant fire chief Brad Wertz.
Clay Pond Road resident Bonnie Feaster, 53, said she first heard the crash, which she said sounded like "a big bang," from her home around 9:50 a.m. While she didn't witness the crash live, she said her surveillance system caught it all on tape."One car was going down from Sunbury and the SUV was coming out of Black Mill Road," she said. "It was pretty bad."
Wertz said all he knew was "two cars hit each other."
He said Friendship and East Ends from the Sunbury Fire Department were first on the scene to provide aid to the people inside the wrecked vehicles.
Wertz confirmed two ambulances from Americus Ambulance and one from AREA Services were on the scene.Although Wertz did not release details into injuries, Feaster said it appeared a woman, a man, and a girl were injured in the crash.
"The [police] officer told me they will be okay, but you never know," she said.
Feaster said this is the first accident near her house in a year, but she is never surprised when an accident does happen.
"People go too fast on this road," she said, adding she doesn't let her grandchildren play in her front year facing the road.
Wertz said he doesn't know what caused the crash. "That is for the police to investigate," he said. State Police at Stonington were on the scene.
