One person was injured in a crash involving an Aliquippa Police cruiser early Thursday morning in Beaver County.

The accident happened just before 5 a.m.Two officers in a cruiser had just spotted a driver blow through a red light.

When they began their pursuit with sirens and lights flashing, a second driver plowed into them.

The accident happened at the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Grand Avenue.

The passenger side of the police vehicle was smashed, as was the guard rail they hit when the force of the impact spun the vehicle around.
