HARTFORD, CT : New Britain teen killed in Hartford crash at the Interstate 84 west in the area of Exit 48 on Saturday, 28th December, 2019
An 18-year-old New Britain resident was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Hartford, according to a Connecticut State Police accident report.
Troopers responded to Interstate 84 west in the area of Exit 48 in Hartford around 1:10 a.m. for a reported crash involving one vehicle.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the driver lost control of the Honda Civic and it veered to the left, colliding into the center median barrier, the report said.
The driver — identified by state police as Christian Cruz of Corbin Avenue — was found unresponsive by first responders. He later succumbed to his injuries at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. The report indicated he was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.
