MOUNT PLEASANT, WI : Racine woman cited for OWI after crashing car with 4 children inside on Wednesday, 27th January 2021

A 28-year-old Racine woman was cited for operating while intoxicated Tuesday, Jan. 26, after police say she crashed a car with four children inside.
Mount Pleasant police responded to the accident on Spring Street, east of State Highway 31, and discovered that the driver had crossed the center median while driving eastbound, striking a westbound vehicle.
Authorities say the vehicle accelerated again after striking the vehicle, before coming to rest on the median.
Officers discovered that the operator of the vehicle had been drinking, and four children, ranging in ages from 3-10, were inside the suspect vehicle.
The driver was cited and released to a responsible party, who also responded to the scene earlier and took custody of the children.
There were no reported injuries from either vehicle.
