TOLEDO, OH : 1 killed in accident at Alexis and Suder on Friday, 1st March 2019

One person is dead after an accident the sent their truck off the road and into a river near Alexis and Suder at about 9 am Friday.

Police say the driver was traveling north on Suder when he drove off the road and into the river. According to our crew on the scene, the vehicle was not submerged in the water, but rescue crews did need to bring in a chainsaw to remove debris in order to get to the driver.

The driver was transported to St. Vincent's where he was pronounced dead. Police say there were no signs of bodily trauma and no other cars were involved in the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
