Gainesville, FL : Roundabout crash kills two, police say on May, Tuesday 2nd 2017

A driver died early Tuesday after hitting a roundabout and being ejected from the vehicle, Gainesville police reported. A passenger in the car also died.

GPD has identified the driver as Kristian Tyler Barker, 20, of Miami, and the passenger as Matthew Nakamura, 23, of Tampa. They were in a 2008 BMW convertible

The accident happened about 12:35 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast Eighth Avenue and Northeast Ninth Street, GPD spokesman Officer Ben Tobias said in an email.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was speeding when it hit the roundabout and crashed at 800 NE Ninth St.
