Allentown,PA : Stroudsburg woman, 64, is killed in Route 209 head on crash on April, Friday 13th 2018

Stroudsburg woman was killed Friday afternoon when the car she was riding collided with another vehicle on a Route 209 curve in Monroe County, police said.

Ruth A. Leon, 64, was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest after the 5:44 p.m. accident west of Sciota in Hamilton Township, state police at Stroudsburg said.

She was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m., Trooper Thomas A. Rehberg said.

Leon was a passenger in a car driven by Pedro P. Leon, 70, of Stroudsburg when the car, going northeast, crossed a double yellow line on a curve and hit the other vehicle headon, police said.

Anthony Benton, 52, of Effort was driving the second vehicle.

Pedro Leon and Benton were injured, police said. Both were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono.

Blue Ridge Hook & Ladder Company and West End Ambulance were dispatched to the accident scene.
