Belton,SC :One dead after SUV trying to pass another vehicle hits car head-on April, Wednesday 25th 2018

Troopers said one person has died after a head-on crash in Anderson County Wednesday evening.

The crash happened at 10:07 p.m. along SC 20 near Cheddar Road.

Troopers said a 2004 Honda Pilot was heading south and trying to pass another vehicle when the SUV struck an oncoming Toyota Camry head-on.

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.

The driver of the Camry died at the scene.

The driver of the Pilot, a 22-year-old from Simpsonville, was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.

The coroner has not yet released the name of the deceased.
