Clear Spring, MD : I-70 crash injures two east of Clear Spring on Friday, 6th December, 2019
Two people were injured in a crash Friday morning after a tractor-trailer moving out of its lane on eastbound Interstate 70 hit a sedan, Maryland State Police said.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were reopened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday after being closed or partially closed in the area east of Clear Spring for more than seven hours.
The crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a tractor-trailer hauling boxes of food occurred around 9:23 a.m., authorities said.
Christina Vong, 18, of Clear Spring, was driving the Corolla in the left lane when the tractor-trailer, in the right lane, moved into the left lane and hit the sedan, Master Trooper Lester Leggett said.
The sedan went into the median and rolled, Leggett said. Vong was wearing a seatbelt and the airbag went off, he said.
She was in good condition at Meritus Medical Center on Friday afternoon, Leggett said.
The tractor-trailer also went into the median and hit a tree, Leggett said.
