EAST HAVEN, CT : Vehicle crashes into East Haven bank on Wednesday, 15th April, 2020

A New Haven man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly crashing into the Bank of America on Main Street, according to the East Haven Police Department.
Anthony Smith, 32, was charged with disorderly conduct and disobeying an officer’s signal, Lt. Joseph Murgo said in a release.
Officers were dispatched for a domestic dispute at approximately 11:34 a.m., then advised while en route that a man had fled the residence in a white Honda, Murgo said.
“As officers were traveling southbound on Hemingway Avenue, they observed a vehicle matching the provided description driving recklessly northbound on Hemingway Avenue. Officers John Fraenza and Gregory Borer immediately swung around and headed north bound after the vehicle and observed it continuing to drive recklessly before losing control in the area of Hemingway Avenue and Main Street,” Murgo said. “The vehicle struck the Bank of America, which was occupied at the time.”
