A man trying to cross a street in Lynn died after being hit by a car Friday night.

Massachusetts State Police said Miguel Delrosario, 26, of Lynn, was crossing Route 1A and was not in a crosswalk at the time he was struck.

The driver, Matthew Reppucci, 35, of Hampstead, New Hampshire, stayed at the scene.

Two lanes were closed for about two hours.

Delrosario was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Reppucci was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

The investigation is ongoing.

The incident remains under investigation.
