A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Taylorsville Road near Bowman Field.
Louisville Metro police said an SUV was traveling down Taylorsville Road on Sunday at about 9:45 p.m. when the driver lost control and hit a man who was either walking in the roadway or standing on the shoulder. He died before he could be taken to the hospital.
The Jefferson County Coroner later identified the man as 50-year-old Michael Winters.
The suspected driver, Paul Lawrence Heiniger, 33, of Louisville, was taken into custody.
