Manatee County, Fl :Myakka City man dies in single-car crash on Saturday, July 4th 2015

A Myakka City man died in a single-car crash Saturday night.According to the Florida Highway Patrol: Shortly before 11:15 p.m. Saturday, April Betts, 33, of Myakka City, drove east on U.S. 301 in Ellenton. She later told troopers her passenger, 34-year-old James Bailey Jr., suddenly grabbed the steering wheel and caused the Lexus LS400 to veer to the right. The car struck a concrete utility pole, rotated clockwise and stopped facing southwest in the eastbound lanes.Bailey died at the scene. Betts suffered minor injuries.
