Shreveport, LA : Police seek suspect in felony hit and run crash on Wednesday evening, December 24, 2014
Shreveport police are trying to identify and apprehend the driver who struck a pedestrian Wednesday evening in the downtown area then fled the scene.
It happened around 5:47 p.m. Christmas Eve in the 700 block of Texas Street near the intersection of 400 block of Common Street. When officers arrived, they found 58-year-old Natonia Hayes of Bossier City had been struck by a vehicle while walking across Texas Street in the crosswalk. The car that hit Hayes reportedly left the scene without stopping.
Hayes was transported to University Health with what are described as potentially life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses reportedly told police that the hit and run vehicle is a light colored car, possibly white, that should have damage to the front bumper, hood and windshield on the passenger side.
