Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:14 a.m. Monday on Interstate 44, a mile east of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
One of the drivers, Shawn W. Polzin, 32, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and his two passengers, Maggie Polzin, 35, and Oliver J. Polzin, 10, were taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin, the state patrol said. A passenger in the second vehicle, Clifford E. Reynolds, 61, of Neosho, also was taken to Mercy.
Polzin was driving an eastbound Dodge Grand Caravan that ran into the rear of another Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Michelle M. Lewis, 50, of Neosho, the patrol said.
• A Battlefield woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 5:30 p.m. Monday on Interstate 44, 11 miles east of Mount Vernon in Lawrence County, the state patrol said.
Pamela S. Huffman, 51, was taken to Mercy Hospital Springfield.
She was driving an eastbound car that was struck in the rear by an eastbound car driven by John M. Keller, 65, of Springfield, the patrol said.
