McMinnville ,OR :SUV driver, 17, identified in Carlton crash that killed 2 on Wednesday ,July 8th 2015
Authorities have released the name of the driver of a sport utility vehicle that was involved in a fatal crash in rural Carlton on July 8.
A Multi Agency Traffic Team investigation indicates that Kevin Milanez-Gomez, 17, the driver of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, failed to yield at a four-way, controlled intersection in rural Carlton and struck a car that was traveling through the intersection, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Jacob Ryan Coshow of McMinnville and Shantel Louise Fugere of Carlton, who were traveling east on Meadowlake Road at its intersection with Westside Road, were killed in the collision. They were both 20, according to a previous Oregonian/OregonLive report.
Milanez-Gomez was driving north on Westside Road at a high rate of speed when the Jeep collided with the passenger side of a 1996 Mazda Miata that Coshow and Fugere were traveling in, according to the news release.
Milanez-Gomez was traveling with a 17-year-old passenger, according to the news release. Both were taken to Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville for minor injuries, according to an Oregonian/OregonLive report.
