Police have announced that a Fort Hood soldier died in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning.
The 29-year-old was driving a 2006 Yamaha westbound on U.S. Highway 190 when he lost control in a curve on the highway and collided with a cable barrier system post.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced him dead at 2:08 a.m.
The next of kin has been notified, but police are withholding the rider’s name until Fort Hood officials are prepared to release it, according to Harker Heights Police Department spokesman Sgt. Steve Miller.
No autopsy was ordered, but a toxicology report was, according to the news release.
