Athens, AL : One person killed in motorcycle wreck in Limestone County on Saturday night, April 2, 2016

Multiple agencies were called to the scene of a one vehicle crash Saturday night that was fatal for the driver.

Officials say that the motorcycle crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Elkton Road, two miles north of Athens, near B & S Grocery store.

State Troopers identify the driver as 22-year-old Axel Thomas Mayer of Athens.

Officials say that he was wearing a helmet and the crash is under investigation.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama State Troopers, the Piney Chapel Fire Department and Athens EMS were all on the scene.
