Rogers, AR : One injured in motorcycle crash on Interstate 49 north of the West Monroe Exit in Rogers on Wednesday, September 24, 2014
Arkansas State Police said a medical helicopter was called for a motorcycle crash on Interstate 49 north of the West Monroe Exit in Rogers.
The driver was airlifted to Washington Regional Hospital. Police believed he had a broken leg.
Police said no other cars were involved and that witness told officers the man was speeding and lost control, crashing into the cable barriers.
An officer at the scene said the crash was so bad that investigators couldn't find the motorcycle's fuel tank.
Investigators said three witnesses told them they saw the biker going fast southbound on I-49 when he lost control.
The man on the motorcycle was airlifted to Washington Regional Hospital, according to authorities.
Traffic on I-49 was backed up in both directions for almost two hours.
The crash happened around 2:30 pm Wednesday.
Rogers Fire and EMS also responded.
