EATON COUNTY, MI : Flint woman dead after rollover crash on I-69 overnight in Eaton County on Friday, 13th September 2024

A woman from Flint is dead after an overnight car crash on northbound I-69 near Potterville on Friday.

Michigan State Police (MSP) said at 3:15 a.m., they were called out to an area of northbound I-69 near Vermontville Highway in Benton Township for a single-car crash. When they arrived, state police said they found a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country van rolled over off the roadway and was on its roof.

Investigators believe the driver, a 30-year-old woman from Flint, was driving northbound on I-69 while Facetiming a friend and said she was tired. Police later said they believed the woman fell asleep at the wheel and drifted off the road. She then overcorrected and lost control of her car, causing her to leave the roadway and overturn.

MSP said the driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
