Anchorage, AK : Fatal Wasilla crash briefly closes Parks Highway on Tuesday, 27th March 2018

A fatal accident briefly closed the Parks Highway at Church Road, according to the Wasilla Police Department.Four people were involved from three vehicles, according to Ken Barkley, the Mat-Su Borough's deputy emergency services director for fire.

One person died of their injuries, according to Wasilla Police Department spokeswoman Amanda Graham. Wasilla police have reached next of kin but are not releasing that person's identity, Graham said Tuesday.

Three other people were injured, Barkley said.

The road would be closed "indefinitely" until the investigation is finished, Graham said shortly after the crash happened around 1:30 p.m.

By 4:45 p.m., the road had reopened.

Wasilla police are investigating the accident with help from Alaska State Troopers.
