BLOOMING GROVE TOWNSHIP, OH : Ohio deputy injured after overturning patrol car trying to avoid crash on Thursday, 11th February 2021
A Richland County deputy was injured Wednesday when he drove off the road and overturned his patrol car in order to avoid crashing with another vehicle.
According to the State Highway Patrol, Deputy Scott Davis was driving on Ganges Five Point Road at 1:45 p.m. while responding to an emergency call. Davis started to pass another vehicle when a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 66-year-old man began making a left turn onto the driveway of a residence.
Davis turned to avoid hitting the pickup truck, and his Ford Taurus patrol car went off the right side of the road and hit a rock and mailbox before overturning.
Davis was taken by ambulance to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
