Yakima, WA : Sunnyside man injured in single-vehicle accident north of Yakima on Monday, April 3, 2017

A Sunnyside man was injured after he hit a barrier while exiting Interstate 82 four miles north of Yakima, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Valentin Morales, 42, of Sunnyside, hit a barrier while taking the off ramp from Interstate 82 to exit 26 at 7:55 this morning, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. Drugs or alcohol were not involved, and Morales was wearing a seatbelt when the 2006 Suzuki Forenza he was driving hit the barrier, the state patrol said.

Morales is facing charges of driving with wheels off the roadway, and driving with a suspended license, the state patrol said.

He was transported to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital for his injuries where he was treated and released.
