Michigan State Police have identified three people who died in a multi-vehicle crash early Wednesday on Interstate 75.
The crash took place on southbound I-75, near the Interstate 94 exit, just before 4 a.m., said First Lt. Mike Shaw of the state police.
The driver of a 2013 Chevy Malibu, who was killed, was deemed at fault in the incident and had been driving the wrong way on the interstate, Shaw said. State police identified her late Wednesday as 34-year-old Leeanna Custard of New Baltimore.
Two passengers in a 2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette also died in the crash, state police said: Karl Louis Hawkins, 23, of Pontiac and Elijah Duane Holden, 21, of Auburn Hills.
The driver, a 22-year-old Pontiac man, and another passenger, a 24-year-old Pontiac resident, both were critically injured, according to MSP.
Authorities learned Custard had been at Detroit’s Greektown Casino shortly before the crash, but “there is no evidence of alcohol at this time,” Shaw said. Other details were not released Wednesday night.
State police continue to investigate.
