One dead in multi-car accident in Gill Massachusetts
According to Gill Police Sergeant Christopher Redmond, 28-year-old Theresa Pendleton of Erving, MA, was one of seven involved in a three-car accident on French King Highway, near the intersection with Set Back Lane. That accident occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday.
Pendleton was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center by ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead. Six others were also taken to the hospital for evaluations, but were released.
Several Western Massachusetts communities assisted the Gill Police and Fire Departments in responding to the accident, including the Massachusetts State Police, the Montague and Northfield Police Departments, and ambulances from Turners Falls and Deerfield.
Sergeant Redmond told ABC40 that slick road conditions made responding to the accident difficult. No word on if the weather was a factor in the crash itself.The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
