MARTINSBURG, WV : Four taken to hospital after W.Va. 9 crash on Wednesday, 25th December, 2019

Four people were taken Wednesday night to Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg after a two-vehicle crash on W.Va. 9 west of Martinsburg, Berkeley County Sheriff Curtis Keller said.

The medical conditions of those injured weren’t available.

Driver Alyssa Williams, 28, was found to be at fault in the crash, which occurred Wednesday at about 8:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of what also is known as Hedgesville Road, Keller said.

The crash site is near Ben Speck Road.

Williams was driving a gold Chevrolet Malibu east on W.Va. 9 when it crossed the center line and the vehicle struck a black Honda Accord driven west by Brian Boyce, 43, Keller said.

The passengers in Boyce’s vehicle were identified as Rachel Schiavo, 35, and Kaleigh McClaskey, 11, Keller said.

The incident, which prompted the closure of W.Va. 9 for about an hour, remains under investigation.
