Greenacres .FL : 49-year-old suburban Lake Worth man charged with DUI and causing car crash on Friday ,May 15th 2015

A 49-year-old suburban Lake Worth man is facing multiple charges after his arrest last week for allegedly causing a crash while driving under the influence.

Eddy R. Ramirez is facing charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a revoked licence, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit made public Monday. He remained in custody Monday night in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Ramirez has three prior convictions for DUI and his driver’s license was revoked in 2009, state motor vehicle records show.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Jackson Avenue and Lake Worth Road to assist Greenacres police with a reported hit-and-run crash.

When deputies arrived, city officers were speaking to the alleged victim and Ramirez’s Chevy Colorado was on the other side of the street. Ramirez struggled to get out of the truck due to his level of intoxication, the affidavit said. He reportedly required assistance from the deputy in order to avoid falling over.

As a deputy tried to speak to him, Ramirez reportedly interrupted to say his truck was not working. He allegedly began to hallucinate and told a deputy that a car with people carrying guns drove by and someone tried to kill him.
