HUDSON, NH : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Route 111 on Saturday, 1st September 2018
A New Hampshire man died Saturday evening after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Route 111, police said.
Hudson, New Hampshire resident Richard McLaughlin, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision, police announced in a Sunday morning press release.
Saturday about 5:30 p.m., McLaughlin was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson east on Route 111 approaching Clement Road, police said. Tyler Grant, 19, also of Hudson, was traveling north on Clement Road and stopped at the intersection with Route 111 before turning left.
McLaughlin and Grant collided in the intersection, according to police. First responders performed advanced life-saving measures on McLaughlin, but he succumbed to his injuries. Grant was not injured in the collision.
Police said McLaughlin was wearing a helmet and that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash. Route 111 was shut down in both directions for six hours following the crash.
