A 10-year-old from Spartanburg was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday night in Spartanburg County.
Trooper Joe Hovis with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. on SC 9.Trooper Hovis said the crash involved a 2011 Nissan and a 2004 Ford minivan.
The driver of the Nissan was traveling north on SC 9 while the driver of the minivan was traveling south on SC 9. Trooper Hovis said the Nissan turned left and struck the minivan in the left side.
There were five people in the minivan including the driver. Four were taken to Spartanburg Medical Center by EMS. A fifth person, a 10-year-old juvenile, was ejected from the minivan and died at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan was also injured and taken to the hospital. A two-month old was in the car at the time but was not hurt.
Troopers said they are investigating and charges are pending.
