A Marine Corps veteran formerly from New Jersey died last week in a hit-and-run crash in California, police said.
Dylan Moran, 25, of Tulsa, Okla., was struck by two vehicles at 1:08 a.m. on Nov. 10 on West Chapman Avenue in Orange, California, police said in a news release.
Moran, formerly of Vernon, N.J., was in the city on a business trip, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both vehicles fled the scene of the crash. Police said the vehicles were a forest green 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS with black racing stripes and a white 2014 Acura SUV.
Stephen Parlee, the driver of the Acura, was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run causing death, but the driver of the Camaro hasn't been identified, police said.
"This is a unique vehicle and we're confident someone knows of its whereabouts," police said. "We continue to ask for the public's help in locating the outstanding vehicle."
Anyone with more information on this crash can contact the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7444. The city of Orange lies between Anaheim and Santa Ana, California.
Moran's mother, Elizabeth Maciag DeGeeter, said her son loved his country, his family and his 1 1/2-year-old daughter, Harper.
"He loved her with his whole heart," Maciag DeGeeter said. "It's so sad his baby girl will never know her daddy or know how much he loved her."
