NEAR PHILLIPSBURG, MO : Driver killed in crash on I-44 near Conway, Mo. on Tuesday, 9th January 2024

A 17-year-old from Rolla died in a crash on I-44 near Phillipsburg Tuesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the driver hit a bridge pillar, her car became disabled on the highway, and was hit by a tractor-trailer. An 18-year-old in the car was taken to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver wasn’t hurt.

The highway patrol doesn’t release the names of anyone 17 and under.
