Mom, daughter killed in crash Prosser Washington

The Washington State Patrol said a mother and her 14-year-old daughter were killed Saturday near Prosser when a flatbed pickup crossed the centerline and struck their vehicle.Authorities said Ilda Islas, 44, and her daughter Alejandra Islas died at the scene on State Route 22 at Richards Road.

A 5-year-old passenger in their vehicle, Francisco Islas, was taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the pickup, Jeremy Meyer, 21, of Mabton, was also taken to the hospital.Troopers blamed the crash on inattention, and charges were under investigation.
