Pembroke Pines, FL : Officer involved in crash near high school in Pembroke Pines on Monday, 25th November, 2019

A school resource officer was taken to a hospital after getting hit by a car in front of Charles W. Flanagan High School, Pembroke Pines police said.
It happened just before 7:30 a.m. Monday as the school resource officer was directing traffic in the school zone outside the high school at 12800 Taft St.
“The officer was in uniform and wearing a bright yellow traffic vest. The officer’s patrol vehicle was nearby with the emergency lights activated,” police spokeswoman Amanda Conwell said in a news release.
The woman who struck the officer was not hurt and stayed at the scene, Conwell said.
The officer, who was not identified, had injuries that are not considered life-threatening and was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital to be assessed.
There were local detours along Taft Street as police investigated the incident.
