Las Vegas, NV : 2-year-old boy ejected from a car after a head-on collision on the 215 Beltway near Lone Mountain Road on Thursday, April 7, 2016

The 2-year-old boy ejected from a car after a head-on collision Thursday has died, the Nevada Highway Patrol said Monday.

The highway patrol also identified the toddler as well as the car’s driver, a woman who died on the scene of the collision on the 215 Beltway near Lone Mountain Road.

The woman, 26-year-old Davi Owens, died Thursday afternoon, and 2-year-old Liam Collard, who was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition, died Monday, trooper Jason Buratczuk said.

Collard was ejected from a speeding Honda sedan just after 6 p.m. Thursday, when the Honda, driven by Owens, crossed over the beltway’s center line and hit a Volkswagen sedan head-on, he said. The Honda sedan then caught fire, and Owens died on the scene.

Trooper Jason Buratczuk said it’s impossible to determine whether or not Collard was properly restrained, because the inside of the vehicle was destroyed in the fire.

The Volkswagen’s driver wasn’t seriously injured.
