West Odessa, TX : Man killed by alleged drunk driver in West Odessa crash on Saturday night, March 12, 2016
An Athens, Texas man was arrested after killing one in the West Odessa crash reported Saturday night.
According to reports Joseph Dredla, 21 was driving north on FM-866. A man, 56, was headed east on Highway 302.
Dredla disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of FM-866 and Highway 302 and hit the driver. The man died at the scene. Reports said he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
DPS Troopers said Dredla was arrested for intoxication assault, intoxication manslaughter and unlawfully carrying a weapon.
Dredla’s passenger, a 21-year-old man, was ejected during the crash. He was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries. Troopers said he was in critical condition. The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
