Orange County, FL : 62-year-old Orlando woman struck and killed by a car in Orange County on Sunday night, December 7, 2014

A 62-year-old Orlando woman was struck and killed by a car Sunday night in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The woman was attempting to cross Sand Lake Road, from the north to the south, when she was hit by Alfredo Collazo DeJesus' Dodge Neon, a report states. The woman wasn't walking in a crosswalk or at an intersection, troopers said. The front of DeJesus' car struck the woman as she stepped into the westbound lanes. The woman died at the scene. Her name isn't being released pending next of kin notification. DeJesus, 24, of Orlando, wasn't injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
