Phoenix,AZ : Two people injured in three-vehicle crash Interstate 17 on Thursday October 20th 2016

A wrong-way driver heading north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 17 was involved in a three-vehicle crash at Interstate 17 near Carefree Highway early Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Two people were transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Traffic was diverted after the crash, which occurred about 4 a.m. on I-17 near State Route 74, also known as Carefree Highway.

Southbound lanes were reopened shortly after 5 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
