One dead, one injured in Kagel Canyon car crash Near Los Angeles California

One man was killed and another injured Saturday when the car they were in flew off the side of the road in Kagel Canyon, hitting a large tree before landing in a ditch in a single-car crash.

The driver of the car, a Hispanic man who has not yet been identified, was likely killed on impact, according to investigators at the scene. Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department worked to free the passenger from the car for about an hour. He was then transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center by helicopter with serious injuries.

The accident happened about four miles north of the 210 Freeway, and speed may have been a factor in the collision.
