Sumter County, FL : Northport man killed in Sumter County crash on Saturday, 14th December, 2019

A Northport man died in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Sumter County, according to state troopers.

Lawrence Cliff Lard, 60, was killed when the 2000 Nissan Maxima he was driving was struck by a 2004 Honda Accord at 8:37 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80 near the Cuba city limits.

Lard was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
