Norfolk, NE : Iowa woman hurt in traffic accident in Stanton County on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017
A two-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Stanton County sent an Iowa driver to the hospital with possible internal injuries.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said the accident occurred at about 9:15 a.m. on Highway 275 about eight miles east of Norfolk.
The accident occurred when an eastbound van driven by Derek Koehler, 28, of Norfolk lost control due to icy road conditions and crossed the median into the path of a westbound car driven by Ashley Leonard, 29, of Pacific Junction, Iowa.
Leonard, who is expecting, was transported to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk by Stanton Rescue for treatment of possible internal injuries.
Koehler was not injured but was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
