Fairmont,WV : High-speed chase ends in crash on November, Saturday 2nd 2017
Two Pennsylvania residents have been arrested in Fairmont after a high-speed chase Saturday ended when the suspects struck another vehicle.
On Dec. 2, the West Virgina State Police called the Marion County Sheriff’s Department to inform them they had gotten a hit on their license plate reader for a 2011 Chevy Cruze with Pennsylvania registration that was wanted for felony activity.
Deputy Forsyth saw the car on Interstate 79 near the 133 exit and initiated a traffic stop at the Sunoco in White Hall as the vehicle got on to U.S. 250 south.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Nathan Bundy, 42, of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and his passenger was Jackie Snyder, 32, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Forsyth wrote in the criminal complaint that he asked Bundy multiple times to shut the vehicle off, which Bundy eventually did before restarting the car and fleeing north on U.S. 250 toward Fairmont.
Bundy allegedly drove at speeds in excess of 80 mph and went into the oncoming lane to pass vehicles as he attempted to evade police, Forsyth said.
Once in Fairmont, Bundy turned onto 12th Street and circled back onto U.S. 250, this time heading back toward White Hall. Bundy and Snyder traveled south on U.S. 250 for about half a mile before their vehicle struck another vehicle which was in the center turning lane near the Hilltop Grill.
When Bundy and Snyder were pulled from the car they both stated they “did not want to go back to jail,” Forsyth said.
On-station deputies discovered that Bundy had a suspended driver’s license, a parole violation warrant through Pennsylvania and a warrant through Ohio.
