ADKINS, TX : 17-year-old girl killed in crash in far East Bexar County on Friday, 6th November, 2020

A 17-year-old girl pulling her truck out of the driveway was hit and killed by an oncoming car early Friday morning, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 87 near Oak Park Road.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the teen was trying to turn left onto eastbound Hwy 87 and was heading to La Vernia High School when she was hit by the westbound car. The teen’s truck eventually landed on its side, authorities said.

Investigators say fog may have played a factor in the crash.
