Topeka, KS : Lawrence man injured in Tuesday night crash on Kansas Turnpike near Bonner Springs on Tuesda, 13th September 2016
A Lawrence man was injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 along the Kansas Turnpike near Bonner Springs, authorities said.
The crash, which was reported at 8:30 p.m., occurred when a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that was traveling west on the road lost control, struck a guardrail and re-entered the westbound lanes, where it was struck by a 2007 Honda car.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as Lowell F. Holmes, 65, of Lawrence, was reported injured and transported to an area hospital.
The driver of the Honda, Robert E. Horton II, 55, of Topeka, wasn’t injured.
The one passenger in the Honda was also uninjured.
Holmes was alone in his vehicle.
All occupants were wearing their seat belts, according to the turnpike authority.
The Jeep and the Honda were both towed from the scene.
