Indianapolis, IN : Three people injured in three-vehicle crash on I-65 near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street on Monday, Nov 9, 2015
An ambulance has been involved in a crash on Interstate 65 on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street around 9:20 p.m. Monday. The ambulance involved is an Indianapolis EMS ambulance.
Police say that their initial investigation showed that a truck entered southbound I-65 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Street exit. The truck hydroplaned and lost control. They say the truck then struck a Chrysler van. Both vehicles then spun and collided with the ambulance.
Three people in the Chrysler van were injured. Police say all their injuries are considered minor. A medic in the ambulance and the patient that was being transported in the ambulance were both taken to local hospitals. Police say they are uncertain of the severity of their injuries.
All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed due to the crash, but have since reopened.
